renewed their memorandum of agreement on defence cooperation, with Marcos saying it would bolster their joint capabilities in maritime security.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">At a joint news conference in Manila with Vietnamese leader To Lam, Marcos declared that \u201cas fellow claimant states, we reaffirm that maintaining peace, stability and the freedom of navigation and overflight in the South China Sea remains non-negotiable\u201d.<\/p>\n<p datatype=\"p\" data-qa=\"Component-Component\" class=\"e8zc9q40 css-1c6uqr6 ec74h0k1\">Observers said these developments were linking Beijing\u2019s most sensitive maritime concerns \u2013 from the South and East China seas to the Taiwan Strait \u2013 into a more integrated
