Cabinet<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tTOKYO \u2013 4 June 2026: Egypt has invited Japanese businesses to tap investment opportunities in renewable energy, infrastructure, water desalination, electric vehicle manufacturing and other clean-energy-related industries.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe invitation was made by Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty during a meeting with members of the Egypt-Japan Business Council in Tokyo on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tAbdelatty underscored Egypt&#8217;s strategy to localize industry and expand reliance on renewable energy sources, highlighting promising opportunities for Japanese investors in these priority sectors.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe minister also stressed the need to boost Japanese investment in Egypt to better reflect the strategic relationship between the two countries and the opportunities available in the Egyptian market.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tHe pointed to financing and support tools offered by Japanese financial institutions to encourage companies to expand their investments in Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tAbdelatty reviewed measures taken by the Egyptian government to improve the investment climate and enhance the competitiveness of the economy as part of its economic reform program.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tHe also outlined efforts to support Japanese investors, including a dedicated follow-up mechanism for Japanese companies at the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones to help address any challenges they may face.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe minister highlighted Egypt&#8217;s interest in strengthening economic cooperation with Japan, including plans for a Japanese industrial zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe zone would help increase the presence of Japanese companies and enable them to benefit from the incentives and competitive advantages offered by the zone, he added.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tAbdelatty also expressed hope for continued cooperation with the Egypt-Japan Business Council to attract additional Japanese investment and deepen economic and trade ties between the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tHe called for holding an Egyptian-Japanese investment forum in Cairo with broad participation from the business communities of both countries to explore investment opportunities and strengthen bilateral economic partnerships.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty meets members of the Egypt-Japan Business Council in Tokyo, June 4, 2026.
