PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN<\/a>) \u2014 A major moment for the community of Longview unfolded on Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n

The remains of several of the mill workers who died in the Nippon plant implosion<\/a> are returning home from the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.<\/p>\n

Officials with Lewis County Emergency Response notified the public they could stand in support and view the procession from the overpasses along I-5 from Seattle to Cowlitz County. Hundreds of supporters crowded the overpasses along the way to show up for their community.<\/p>\n

“I’m trying not to cry, I’ve cried. But this is so devastating for the community, for the families,” said Kelso resident Donna Harding. “Words don’t say enough.”<\/p>\n

Two of the 11 victims were not among those returning. Dillion Miller is outside of the Cowlitz County Coroner’s jurisdiction, while the other worker, Gilbert Bernal, was already transported to Yakima.<\/p>\n
