{"id":49652,"date":"2026-06-29T16:08:24","date_gmt":"2026-06-29T16:08:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/49652\/"},"modified":"2026-06-29T16:08:24","modified_gmt":"2026-06-29T16:08:24","slug":"china-places-20-japanese-entities-on-export-control-list-for-dual-use-items-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/49652\/","title":{"rendered":"China places 20 Japanese entities on export control list for dual-use items"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>BEIJING \u2014 China added 20 Japanese entities on Monday to its export control list for dual-use items, preventing Chinese firms from selling to them without prior approval, citing Tokyo\u2019s ambitions for \u201cremilitarization.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The action, Beijing\u2019s latest in a series of export curbs targeted at Tokyo, was aimed at limiting Japan\u2019s \u201cnew type of militarism\u201d as well as its nuclear ambitions, the Chinese commerce ministry said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Japan\u2019s defense ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Ties between China and Japan have been strained since late last year after sensitive Taiwan-related remarks by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and Tokyo\u2019s decision to increase defense spending, prompting Beijing to begin imposing export controls on dual-use items in January.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cChina\u2019s lawful action of listing only targets a small number of Japanese entities;
