{"id":50406,"date":"2026-06-30T11:48:07","date_gmt":"2026-06-30T11:48:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/50406\/"},"modified":"2026-06-30T11:48:07","modified_gmt":"2026-06-30T11:48:07","slug":"mhi-delivers-japans-tenth-mogami-class-frigate-nagara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/50406\/","title":{"rendered":"MHI delivers Japan&#8217;s tenth Mogami-class frigate Nagara"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has delivered the warship Nagara to Japan\u2019s Ministry of Defense, the tenth frigate in the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force\u2019s (JMSDF) Mogami-class program.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"505\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/japan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/mhi-mogami-class-frigate--768x505.png\" class=\"attachment-medium_large size-medium_large\" alt=\"\" loading=\"eager\"  \/>Credit: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI)<\/p>\n<p>As disclosed, the delivery took place at MHI\u2019s Nagasaki Shipyard &amp; Machinery Works in Nagasaki. The vessel was ordered in fiscal 2022 as part of Japan\u2019s surface combatant modernization effort.<\/p>\n<p>Nagara follows nine earlier ships in the class\u2014Mogami, Kumano, Noshiro, Mikuma, Yahagi, Agano, Niyodo, Yubetsu and Natori\u2014all of which have already been handed over to the Ministry of Defense.<\/p>\n<p>The ship has a length of 133 meters, a beam of 16.3 meters, and a displacement of around 3,900 tons.
