As Naomi Osaka makes a deep run at Wimbledon, supporting her is her team and family.<\/p>\n

Getting ready for a Grand Slam, she told T&C last summer, \u201cI try to keep it all the same.\u201d She adds, \u201cI don\u2019t try to deviate too much, but I think for Grand Slams, everyone takes it a little bit more seriously, me included.\u201d That \u201ceveryone\u201d includes her coaches and her business team. \u201cI\u2019ve been really fortunate to be surrounded by really good people, like my agent, my manager, everyone around me,\u201d she says. \u201cThey\u2019re like my family.\u201d Here, get to know Naomi Osaka\u2019s team\u2014and who sits in her player\u2019s box.<\/p>\n

Naomi is very close with her mom, Tamaki, who is always in her player’s box cheering her daughter on. Tamaki worked \u201cincredibly hard to support me and my passion for play,\u201d Naomi said<\/a>. \u201cShe always put others first and encouraged me to embrace my diversity. Every role model I’ve had has inspired me to dream big. To level up in every way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tamaki played a part in Naomi’s choice to play for Japan, though she grew up in the United States. \u201cWe made the decision that Naomi would represent Japan at an early age,\u201d Tamaki said the Naomi Osaka<\/a> Netflix show. \u201cShe was born in Osaka and was brought up in a household of Japanese and Haitian culture. Quite simply, Naomi and her sister, Mari, have always felt Japanese so that was our only rationale. It was never a financially motivated decision nor were we ever swayed either way by any national federation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201dHe seemed like such a tough guy to me but actually, when he smiles, he really is like a teddy bear,\u201d Osaka said of her coach. \u201cWhen we talk after matches, he’s not harsh at all. He’s like always very proud and encouraging. I feel like it kind of creates a safe space for me to be able to express myself and my tennis.\u201d<\/p>\n

Leonard Francois, Osaka\u2019s dad, has been spotted in her box during Wimbledon 2026. \u201cI came from a mom that worked for basically my entire childhood to put me through tennis. My dad, who was with me the entire time. And I knew that they had a really hard time,\u201d she told CBS News<\/a> in May 2022. \u201cTennis is an expensive sport. So, just to put two kids through that and just, I guess, believe in them so much is something that \u2014 I always call my parents a bit crazy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Zukas, an Argentine tennis player, joined Naomi\u2019s team as a hitting partner for her. He\u2019s still an active men’s player\u2014ranked 1,389 in the world.<\/p>\n

Her talent manager and friend, Alexandria \u201cAlex\u201d Boston<\/p>\n

Last year, after winning a match at the Canadian Open, Osaka took the mic to wish Alex a happy birthday, saying, it was for \u201cThis beautiful girl right here. She\u2019s like my best friend and agent.\u201d<\/p>\n
