The track continues Yamatomaya’s signature sound — emotionally charged melodic progressive house layered with cinematic textures, electronic energy, and powerful vocals.

The release will launch what is set to be a landmark week for the Japanese artist. Just one day after the single drops, Yamatomaya will perform on July 10 at Ultra Europe in Croatia, followed by her debut performance on July 11 at the world-renowned Bootshaus in Cologne, Germany alongside Jax Jones and Julian Jordan.

Together, the release and back-to-back European appearances mark a major step forward in Yamatomaya’s global rise and reinforce growing international momentum around her music and live performances.

“Maze of Lies is one of the records I’ve believed in the most,” says Yamatomaya. “To release it on my own label and then immediately perform at Ultra Europe and Bootshaus makes this a very special moment for me. It feels like everything is building in the right direction.”

Building on the Momentum of “Endless”

Following the strong response to “Endless,” Yamatomaya has continued to build momentum as one of Japan’s most internationally recognized electronic artists. Known for blending melodic progressive house with cinematic emotion, electronic intensity, and powerful vocal-driven moments, she has developed a distinct sound that bridges emotion, scale, and club energy.

Her career first gained major attention with the release of “ALIVE,” which reached #1 on the iTunes Dance Chart and helped introduce her as a rising name in progressive house. After building a loyal following through performances across Japan’s Kansai nightclub scene, she expanded onto the international stage. In 2019, she became the first Japanese female artist to perform at the ADE After Party in Amsterdam, a milestone that helped establish her
presence within the European electronic music community.

That same year, she completed 16 international performances and appeared at six major festivals, accelerating her transition into a globally touring artist. Her international profile has since continued to grow through appearances at major electronic music events including:

Ultra Europe
Creamfields Thailand
EDC China
Parookaville Festival
S2O Festival

In 2023, she made history as the only Asian female DJ to perform at Ultra Europe, while also completing a European festival tour across six countries including Croatia, Italy, Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands, and Albania. Her achievements were further recognized when she was ranked #1 in Japan and #8 in Asia in the DJane Mag Asia Top 40 rankings.

AMO Recordings and the Next Phase

Beyond her work as a performer and producer, Yamatomaya is also continuing to grow her presence as a curator and label head through AMO Recordings, the imprint she launched in 2025 to support emerging artists and forward-thinking electronic music.

The label’s early showcase events in Tokyo and Osaka attracted industry attention and helped position AMO Recordings as an exciting new platform within Japan’s electronic music scene. Now, with “Maze of Lies” set for release on AMO, Yamatomaya is entering a new phase that reflects both artistic confidence and a broader international vision. Releasing one of her most anticipated tracks through her own label, then taking that momentum straight into two major European performances, signals a defining new chapter in her career.

With more music, global shows, and international opportunities on the horizon, the months ahead are shaping up to be a pivotal period for the Tokyo-based artist.

UFO Network brings you music news daily!
