(Image credit: Instagram) It very much looked like polesitter Jake Dennis would translate his pole into victory at the Tokyo E-Prix but it was Cupra Kiro driver Dan Ticktum who made a last-minute overtake on the Andretti driver and won Round 14. Ticktum not just won the race but also recorded the fastest lap at the Tokyo Street Circuit. Joining the two of them on the podium was Citroen Racing\u2019s Nick Cassidy who claimed third spot on the podium, which can be called a tribute to their late team principal Cyril Blais. <\/p>\n

Jake Dennis beats Oliver Rowland to join title race at Tokyo E-Prix Round 14<\/p>\n

Dan Ticktum comes fresh from his GEN4 stint at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and finishing second at the motorsport event. The Cupra Kiro driver started from the sixth place on the grid to claim his first victory of the season. But the biggest gainer of the evening remains Mitch Evans of Jaguar TCS Racing who once again took the lead of the championship by finishing fourth. He managed to beat Pascal Wehrlein to take the top spot in the Drivers\u2019 Standings though with just a three-point lead. Mahindra Racing\u2019s Edoardo Mortara won the FP1 as well as FP2 ahead of the race and managed to bring in some crucial points by finishing fifth in the Round 14 final. Jean-Eric Vergne of Citroen Racing finished sixth, after promising to do their best as a tribute to their team principal Cyril Blais. Oliver Rowland of Nissan took the seventh position and lost his third spot in the Drivers\u2019 Standings to Jake Dennis. Cupra Kiro rookie Pepe Marti took eighth, followed by Jaguar TCS Racing driver Antonio Felix Da Costa in nineth, DS Penske driver Taylor Barnard finished the top ten on Saturday.
