Even when he\u2019s met with snickers and prejudice, Shimotori handles each patient with sincerity and unwavering care through counseling. Yet he, too, secretly carries his own unresolved pain\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Kento Nakajima, a longtime fixture of Japan\u2019s entertainment scene, breaks new ground as Shimotori, a therapist who steadfastly supports clients carrying all kinds of sexual worries. This marks his second leading role in a Netflix production, following the bittersweet romance Love Like the Falling Petals.<\/p>\n<p>Yuko Araki plays the woman who crosses paths with Shimotori in a fateful reunion. They are joined by a stellar ensemble spanning generations, including Ryota Miura, Sawako Fujima, Aoi Nakamura, Rinka Kumada, Sayaka Yamaguchi, Y\u016bsuke Santamaria, and Shiro Sano.<\/p>\n<p>Director Shogo Kusano, known for fresh, emotionally rich youth and romance dramas, takes a premise that could easily tip into sensationalism and turns it into something more grounded: an adult drama about real people navigating work, love, and sexuality \u2014 one that resonates deeply with anyone who has ever struggled with intimacy.<\/p>\n<p>By treating sexuality as something deeply connected to how we express love and how we see our own self-worth, not just biology, this story invites viewers to re-examine their relationships and themselves, and to confront what it truly means to love.<\/p>\n<p>S&amp;X is a love story for every adult carrying their own quiet worries.
