In the spring, Nike brought eight designers from around the world to Beaverton, Oregon, for a four-day design workshop<\/a> focused on reimagining a 3D-printed Air Max. With the Air Max 1000.2<\/a> in rapid-fire production with the help of Zellerfeld, the 3D-printed sneaker\u2019s production speed is finally catching up to Nike\u2019s design capabilities. Bringing fresh design ideas from around the globe, the Nike AirWorks program is the next step into a 3D-printed future.<\/p>\n An Early Air Max Day Preview<\/p>\n As we wait for a full look at the AirWorks collection for Air Max Day next March, one designer is already showing off his work. Japanese designer Motoi Hatsuki, one of the eight AirWorks designers who took a trip to the Nike campus this spring, debuted his 3D-printed Air Max silhouette on Instagram this week, bringing some familiar vibes to a slick, one-piece slip-on.<\/p>\n Hatsuki\u2019s unnamed 3D-printed AirWorks silhouette features the bones of an Air Max 1000<\/a>, with a sleek one-piece, printed upper with a glowing neon yellow Air bubble at the heel.
