An iconic Los Angeles hot dog<\/a> shop is ready to take the world by storm by opening its first-ever location in the Japan. <\/p>\n

Pink\u2019s Hot Dogs<\/a> has been a favorite for more than 80 years, serving up its famous chili dogs to celebrities, tourists and locals for decades.<\/p>\n

The company said it plans to open its flagship restaurant in Tokyo by the end of the year, partnering with Japanese franchise operator Sunpark.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur Japanese partner, Sunpark, operates more than 100 restaurants throughout Japan and brings extensive experience in restaurant operations,\u201d the company told NBC LA.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are confident in Sunpark\u2019s ability to maintain the high standards of food quality, atmosphere, and service that have defined Pink\u2019s for generations.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have so many Japanese customers coming to Pink\u2019s and they hear about it, and many of them come with their suitcases, and they\u2019re either coming from the airport or going to the airport,\u201d Richard Pink, co-owner of the buiness, told the LA Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The original Pink\u2019s hot dog stand<\/a> \u2014 located near La Brea Ave and Melrose \u2014 serves<\/a> more than a thousand hot dogs and hundreds of hamburgers every day.<\/p>\n

The franchise began back in 1939 with Paul and Betty Pink selling dogs for 10 cents out of a pushcart near the area.<\/p>\n

Today, Pink\u2019s menu features more than 40 different kinds of hot dogs, including franks named for everyone from Rosie O\u2019Donnell and Carl Reiner to Shaquille O\u2019Neal.<\/p>\n

The family-run business has eight locations throughout Southern California and Nevada, as well as eateries in the Philippines and one slated to open in South Korea in November.<\/p>\n

The company said future plans include opening up restaurants in Singapore, Australia and Mexico.<\/p>\n
