Feel Mobility Accelerate into the Future at the 2026 TDK Tokyo E-Prix<\/a><\/p>\n

In Round 14, Porsche\u2019s Pascal Wehrlein retired after sustaining damage to his car, while teammate Nico M\u00fcller dropped in the standings following a grazing incident. The following day, rain-soaked conditions made for another demanding race, with M\u00fcller finishing seventh and Wehrlein fourteenth.<\/p>\n

Despite the challenges faced by the factory team, Porsche and its customer teams\u2014Andretti and CUPRA Kiro, both of which compete using Porsche powertrains\u2014continued to accumulate valuable points. As a result, Porsche secured the Formula E Manufacturers\u2019 World Championship at the conclusion of the Tokyo E-Prix. For TDK, which supports Porsche as its technology partner, the title is a testament to the world-class performance and competitiveness of Porsche\u2019s electrified mobility technologies.<\/p>\n

\tEvents Beyond the Racetrack<\/p>\n

To coincide with the 2026 TDK Tokyo E-Prix, TDK hosted a series of events across Tokyo and around the race venue. With Formula E championing the transition to a more sustainable society through electrification, the Tokyo E-Prix provided an opportunity to deepen understanding of zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs), sustainable urban development, and the future of mobility.<\/p>\n

Through these events, TDK showcased not only the technologies that support the evolution of mobility from within, but also its broader initiatives to reduce environmental burden, create positive social impact, and help develop the next generation of talent.<\/p>\n

\u30fbTDK Mobility Impact Forum 2026<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, July 22, TDK hosted the TDK Mobility Impact Forum 2026 in Shibuya for university students and TDK employees.<\/p>\n

Conceived as a forum for discussing sustainability at the intersection of business, technology, and societal challenges, the event featured Julia Pall\u00e9, Formula E\u2019s Vice President of Sustainability; Professor Jusuke Ikegami of Waseda University\u2019s Waseda Business School; and Taro Ikushima, Corporate Officer and General Manager of Corporate Strategy HQ at TDK. Together, they exchanged perspectives on the future of mobility, cutting-edge EV technologies, and the role of sustainability in shaping tomorrow\u2019s society.<\/p>\n

\u30fbBehind the Scenes Tour<\/p>\n

\"Students<\/p>\n

On Friday, July 24, the day before the opening race, approximately 100 university students participated in a Behind the Scenes Tour of the Tokyo E-Prix.<\/p>\n

Following a career discussion with Andreas Keller, Executive Vice President and CHRO of TDK, participants toured the pit lane where the Formula E race cars were prepared for competition. They also visited the Porsche Formula E Team garage, where team members explained Porsche\u2019s technology partnership with TDK and shared insights into Formula E racing. The tour concluded with a behind-the-scenes look at the production of Formula E\u2019s international live broadcast.<\/p>\n

Also on July 24, Formula E hosted Change. Accelerated. Live. Tokyo, with TDK as the Official Partner of the event. The forum brought together leading voices from the mobility and energy sectors for a series of discussions on the future of transportation.<\/p>\n

Noboru Saito, President and CEO of TDK, joined one of the panel discussions alongside Hiroki Tsukamoto of NTT DOCOMO BUSINESS and motorsport journalist Kiyoshi Tanigawa, they discussed the theme, Where We Stand: Enabling the Next Era of AI-Driven Mobility.<\/p>\n

\u30fbJoint Exhibit at the Fan Village<\/p>\n

Throughout the race weekend on July 25 and 26, Formula E\u2019s Fan Village at Tokyo Big Sight welcomed visitors with a gaming arena and a wide range of interactive exhibits celebrating the world of Formula E.<\/p>\n

TDK joined Porsche Motorsport and Henkel in a shared exhibit featuring the Porsche 99X Electric, a driving simulator, and interactive games and augmented reality experiences introducing visitors to TDK\u2019s technologies. The booth attracted a large number of visitors and served as an engaging showcase for TDK in Mobility. <\/p>\n
