Naomi Osaka<\/a> is known for making an entrance when it comes to her match day outfits.<\/p>\n

The tennis star, who is currently ranked world No. 13 by the WTA, has become just as famous for her style as she has for her athletic prowess.<\/p>\n

Osaka is from Osaka, Japan, and she frequently pays homage to her Japanese heritage<\/a> with her outfits. The mom of one<\/a> has even helped design some of her ensembles over the years.<\/p>\n

“Sometimes people say athletes are in show business or entertainers or whatever,” she said during a post-game press conference at the 2026 French Open, per Reuters<\/a>. “For me, Grand Slam walk-ons are the only time that I possibly feel like I’m an entertainer.”<\/p>\n

From the US Open<\/a> to Wimbledon<\/a>, here’s a look at seven times Naomi Osaka served serious style on the tennis court.<\/p>\n

The 2024 US Open\"Naomi<\/p>\n

In 2024, Osaka made her triumphant return to the US Open<\/a> after going on maternity leave in a green and white ensemble designed by Yooh Ahn and Nike.<\/p>\n

Worn by Osaka during her first-round singles match on day two of the tournament, the look featured a white windbreaker with a large green bow, a green tutu with white tulle ruffles and a matching green visor.<\/p>\n

“The inspiration that fueled the look for me \u2014 and this might be a Japanese term \u2014 is feeling like a ‘magical girl’ on the court,” Osaka told Nike<\/a> at the time. “There’s a moment of transformation for me when I walk onto the court, and I have a lot of fun playing, so wanting everyone who sees the outfit to connect with that feeling is a really big motivation for me.”<\/p>\n

The 2025 French Open\"Naomi<\/p>\n

The following year, Osaka stepped out at the 2025 French Open<\/a> in another show-stopping Nike ensemble.<\/p>\n

Rendered in blush pink, the tennis kit featured a layered ruffle skirt paired with a matching maroon-and-pink varsity jacket. Osaka’s hair accessories were a nod to the Japanese comic Sailor Moon and her shoes were inspired by Japanese cherry blossoms, a.k.a. sakura.<\/p>\n

“The shoes are sakura-themed, which is I guess just in time for spring, which is sakura season,” Osaka said at the time, per Tennis.com<\/a>. “It follows the flower story that we have throughout the year.”<\/p>\n

The 2025 US Open\"Naomi<\/p>\n

Osaka returned to the US Open in 2025 wearing a matching orange set from Nike that featured glittering mesh panels and a tiered bubble skirt. In a post-game press conference, she told reporters that planning her outfit for the match was a “little chaotic.”<\/p>\n

“It was really elaborate because the crystals are really hard to do on a performance outfit,” Osaka said.<\/p>\n

As for accessories, she paired the look with a bedazzled Labubu<\/a> named “Billie Jean Bling” after tennis legend Billie Jean King<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 2026 Australian Open\"Naomi<\/p>\n

Ahead of her first-round singles match on day three of the 2026 Australian Open<\/a>, Osaka made an entrance in a jellyfish-inspired look<\/a> designed by her and Robert Wun in collaboration with Nike.<\/p>\n

The ensemble featured a white pleated skirt layered over matching pants, a blue-and-green textured minidress and a white wide-brim hat over which she draped a gauzy white veil. The athlete also carried a small white umbrella as she walked onto the court.<\/p>\n

Osaka explained to Vogue<\/a> at the time that the inspiration for the outfit came from a book she had read to her daughter, Shai. “There was an image of a jellyfish, and when I showed it to her she got so excited,” she told the outlet.<\/p>\n

Osaka embraced animal print at the 2026 BNP Paribas Open in a tennis dress designed by Nike. The one-piece look featured a cheetah pattern against a lime green backdrop. Osaka finished off the look with a black Nike visor.<\/p>\n

Pre-match, the tennis star also sported some custom jewelry from Filipino-American designer Chris Habana, including ear cuffs and a gold mouthpiece.<\/p>\n

“He’s created these really layered pieces for artists that feel expressive, but also intentional,” Osaka said of Habana in an interview with Vogue<\/a> at the time. “I loved the idea of bringing that energy onto the court.”<\/p>\n

Osaka opted for another layered ensemble<\/a> at the 2026 French Open<\/a>. Stepping out on day three of the tournament, the athlete made a statement in a black corset and a floor-length black pleated skirt, both of which were designed by Swiss couturier Kevin Germanier.<\/p>\n

She then shed her top layer to reveal a gold Nike tennis dress with a ruffled, sequined skirt.<\/p>\n

“I feel like fashion, for me, I tell people, I don’t talk a lot, so that way I can talk through my clothes,” Osaka said in a press conference at the time. “That means I can be as loud with colors or patterns or fabric as I want.”<\/p>\n

Though Wimbledon has a strict all-white dress code<\/a>, Osaka didn’t let that stop her from getting creative. On day one of the tournament, the tennis star debuted a layered look inspired by a Japanese ceremonial dress: the kimono.<\/p>\n

Osaka collaborated with Tokyo-based designer Hana Yagi on the ensemble, which was covered in embroidered cranes and cherry blossoms. She paired it with a long ruffled skirt, styling her hair with a traditional kanzashi hair ornament. Underneath, Osaka wore an all-white Nike tennis kit.<\/p>\n

During an on-court interview after her match, Osaka also revealed the pop culture inspiration behind the look: Quentin Tarantino<\/a>‘s Kill Bill.<\/p>\n

“I was thinking about my favorite movies. I love Kill Bill, and then I remembered absolutely falling in love with Lucy Liu<\/a>‘s character, and she has an all-white kimono. I remember thinking that was really cool and amazing,” she said, per Reuters<\/a> and WTA Tennis<\/a>.<\/p>\n
