Hanwha General Insurance (000370) is joining hands with the Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association to foster the domestic femtech (female technology) industry.
Hanwha General Insurance said on the 27th that it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the association to “revitalize the women’s economy and femtech industry.” Through the agreement, the two organizations will establish a cooperative framework to support the growth of women-owned businesses and revitalize the femtech industry.
First, they plan to discover and nurture promising domestic femtech startups and support their entry into global markets. They will also establish financial programs to support the stable management of women-owned businesses. The two sides will develop and sell customized insurance products for female customers and pursue the creation of a fund to revitalize the femtech industry. In addition, they plan to jointly pursue education and networking programs to strengthen the capabilities of women entrepreneurs, as well as wellness projects to promote women’s health and improve their quality of life.
Hanwha General Insurance explained that the agreement is part of its strategy to build an AI-based women’s wellness ecosystem and expand open innovation. Beyond simply supporting startups, the company aims to collaborate with external innovative firms to discover future customer experiences and expand new business opportunities.
“The continuous innovation and challenges of women-owned businesses are a key driving force in raising the competitiveness of our society,” a Hanwha General Insurance official said. “We will contribute to laying the foundation for future growth by supporting the growth of women-owned businesses and expanding the base of the femtech industry.”
