HD Hyundai Marine Solution (443060) posted strong second-quarter results, driven by balanced growth across its vessel maintenance, eco-friendly retrofitting, and digital solutions businesses. The company is notably accelerating its business expansion by targeting power generation engines for data centers and the floating data center conversion market as its next-generation growth drivers.
HD Hyundai Marine Solution announced on the 27th through a regulatory filing that it achieved consolidated second-quarter 2026 revenue of ₩580.4 billion (approximately $395.0 million) and an operating profit of ₩97.6 billion (approximately $66.4 million). These figures represent increases of 24.1% in revenue and 17.6% in operating profit compared to the same period last year. The operating margin stood at 16.8%.
Performance was led by the company’s three core businesses: ship parts and services (AM), eco-friendly retrofitting, and digital solutions. Combined revenue from these segments reached ₩356.7 billion (approximately $242.7 million), a 25.2% year-over-year increase, accounting for 61.5% of total revenue. The remaining bunkering business also contributed to top-line growth, with revenue rising 22.3% to ₩223.7 billion (approximately $152.2 million).
By business segment, the AM division, which accounts for roughly 47% of total revenue, generated ₩275 billion (approximately $187.1 million) in sales, marking 19.6% growth year-over-year. Amid a steady increase in serviceable vessels due to a strong newbuilding market, monthly parts shipments surpassed 60,000 units—a roughly 27% increase from the previous year’s average—setting an all-time record. The cumulative number of vessels serviced reached 10,168. Revenue from land-based power generation projects and a maintenance contract in Ecuador was also reflected in the AM segment’s performance, demonstrating the effects of business diversification.
The eco-friendly solutions segment recorded revenue of ₩45.3 billion (approximately $30.8 million), achieving a high growth rate of 38.1% year-over-year. This was driven by the ramp-up of major vessel retrofitting projects. HD Hyundai Marine Solution plans to expand its scope from its existing business centered on installing ballast water treatment systems (BWTS) and scrubbers to next-generation retrofitting projects encompassing eco-friendly fuel conversion and carbon reduction equipment.
The digital solutions segment posted revenue of ₩36.4 billion (approximately $24.8 million), surging 65.5% year-over-year to record the highest growth rate among the three core businesses. This was largely driven by an increase in vessels equipped with new solutions and higher sales of shaft generators and control systems for specialized ships. While the segment accounts for only about 6% of total revenue, its potential for expansion into service-based models, such as operational data analysis and remote monitoring, is drawing attention.
In response to rising electricity demand driven by the proliferation of artificial intelligence (AI), HD Hyundai Marine Solution plans to strengthen its push into the market for data center power generation engines and floating data center conversions. A company official stated, “Our core businesses—AM, eco-friendly, and digital solutions—are growing evenly, establishing a stable business foundation,” adding, “We will secure new growth engines by strengthening our market offensive in data center power generation engines and floating data center conversions.”
