A Hanwha Aerospace official said, “We feel a heavy sense of responsibility for taking on the role of setting the standard for the future unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) capabilities of the Republic of Korea military.” The official added, “As a leading domestic UGV platform company, we will build out a manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T) portfolio by integrating existing weapon systems such as the K9 Thunder and the Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV).”
Hanwha Aerospace plans to sign a mass-production contract for Arion Smet with DAPA as early as August.
