Hyundai Future Net said on the 4th that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Microsoft Korea for artificial intelligence transformation (AX) and retail AI innovation.
Under the agreement, the two sides will build a security framework for the safe use of AI at Hyundai Department Store Group (069960). They will also expand AI-based work environments and develop AI agents specialized for the retail industry. In addition, they will jointly pursue the discovery and commercialization of new AI-based services.
Hyundai Future Net plans to use the agreement to begin full-scale AX transformation at Hyundai Department Store Group. First, it will establish an AI security and governance framework to create a foundation for the safe use of AI. It will also expand the adoption of “Microsoft 365,” a collaboration tool optimized for AI use, across the group’s overall operations. In addition, the group will utilize Microsoft’s flagship AI solutions across its operations, including “Microsoft AI Foundry,” a platform for developing and operating generative AI models and agents; “Azure AI,” a cloud-based service; and “Microsoft 365 Copilot,” an AI assistant.
The two sides will also jointly develop next-generation AI agents. To this end, “AI Lab,” Hyundai Future Net’s dedicated AI research organization, and Microsoft Korea’s AI specialist organization will collaborate. “This MOU is a strategic partnership to accelerate Hyundai Department Store Group’s AI transformation and strengthen its retail innovation competitiveness,” said Kim Sung-il, CEO of Hyundai Future Net.
