Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) – International Service: According to Novosti, Kim Yo-jong, sister of the North Korean leader and deputy secretary general of the ruling party’s Central Committee, strongly condemned Japan’s US-backed Tomahawk missile test and warned that Pyongyang will not remain indifferent to Tokyo’s expansion of military power.
Stating that these tests threaten the security of North Korea and other countries in the region, she stated that Japan is rapidly moving towards becoming a military power by abusing the rapid and complex developments in the international system.
Kim Yo Jong emphasized that Pyongyang is closely monitoring all of Japan’s military movements and decisions to strengthen its defense capabilities and will not remain silent about this process.
These statements came after the Japanese Defense Ministry announced the testing of Tomahawk cruise missiles with the support of the US Navy, describing the test as a sign of progress in the country’s missile program and strengthening its deterrent capabilities.
Earlier, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu had warned that Japan was moving rapidly along the path of militarization and was gradually moving away from the commitments it had made after World War II.
