CJ OliveNetworks has built a next-generation Warehouse Management System (WMS) at HD Hyundai Electric’s Cheongju Distribution Campus, a futuristic smart production base. By connecting production, logistics, and equipment data on a single platform, the entire process from material receiving to finished product shipment can now be managed in real time.
CJ OliveNetworks announced on the 11th that it had completed the WMS deployment at HD Hyundai Electric’s Cheongju Distribution Campus. The campus, which began operations in December last year, spans approximately 82,500 square meters (about 25,000 pyeong) and consolidates production, design, and logistics functions previously scattered across Anseong, Ulsan, and Busan. It is a large-scale smart production base manufacturing around 50,000 types of power distribution equipment, including Air Circuit Breakers (ACB), Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCB), and Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCB).
The core of this project lies in CJ OliveNetworks’ integration of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Warehouse Control System (WCS), logistics automation equipment, and external partner systems into a single platform. The system is designed to provide intuitive visibility into logistics flows and work status through an integrated control dashboard and intelligent task management features. In particular, user-centric screens and interface standardization were applied to enhance the efficiency of on-site workers.
Integration with logistics automation equipment is also noteworthy. Advanced equipment such as Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR), Automated Case-handling Robots (ACR), and logistics shuttles are connected to the WMS, enabling data-driven operations across all processes—from material receiving and depalletizing to production line delivery and finished product shipment. This effectively blurs the boundary between the production floor and the logistics warehouse, completing a single intelligent operating framework.
With this system deployment, HD Hyundai Electric has secured visibility across its entire logistics flow and strengthened its delivery management capabilities. Furthermore, the company has laid the foundation to leverage accumulated data to pursue AI-based logistics advancement and expand its application to global sites. This is interpreted as more than just the introduction of a warehouse management system; it is a strategic move toward an AI Transformation (AX) across the entire manufacturing logistics spectrum.
