Kakao (035720.KS) is offering tailored marketing training and networking opportunities to small business owners in the beauty industry to help them establish successful operations.
The company said on the 13th that it is recruiting participants for the fifth round of its “Kakao Business Owners Community.” The program helps small business owners learn how to use Kakao Business, apply it to their shops, and share operating experiences with peers in the same industry. Kakao Business is an integrated business platform that lets advertisers and business owners use Kakao’s advertising, marketing and business tools.
Applications will be accepted through the 6th of next month from owners of location-based, appointment-driven beauty shops, including hair salons, nail salons, eyelash studios and skincare and esthetic businesses. Final participants will be announced on the 10th. The program will run for six weeks, from September 29 to November 3.
The fifth round reduced the learning burden and expanded hands-on opportunities in consideration of the beauty industry, where owners must balance running their shops with training. Participants can study basic features at their own pace through pre-recorded VOD lessons, while online live sessions offer beauty-specific case studies and usage tips from Kakao staff, along with practice exercises and Q&A. Participants apply what they learn each week directly to their shops, using Kakao Business services systematically along the customer journey — from shop searches to consultations, bookings and repeat visits.
Beyond the basic curriculum, an optional program has been added for participants seeking more advanced learning. They can choose between a “participatory study group,” which works through KakaoTalk Channel operations, follower acquisition and promotional strategies based on real shop cases, and a “hands-on special lecture” covering the planning, filming and use of short-form content. Each program is run in small groups to increase the density of practice and feedback.
Participants are given networking opportunities to share shop management know-how with peers in the same industry. In addition, Kakao provides Kakao Business “free cash” so that participants can directly test the advertising features they learn during the training at their shops. After the program ends, Kakao plans to select and reward outstanding cases.
Kakao previously ran a fourth round of the Business Owners Community for wellness and sports business owners from May to June, drawing a strong response. Satisfaction with the program scored 4.67 out of 5, with 96.3% of participants rating it positively. The share who said their ability to use Kakao Business had improved was 95.1%, while 97.5% said they would recommend it to fellow business owners.
Hwang Jun-yeon, domain leader for Kakao Business, said, “For the fifth round, we strengthened practice and exchange so that participants can find operating methods optimized for each shop using Kakao Business. We will continue to actively reflect voices from the field and create programs that provide practical help to business owners across a range of industries.”
