A poll showed on the 10th that President Lee Jae Myung’s approval rating for state affairs was 43.3%, the lowest since taking office.

According to a survey of 2,514 voters aged 18 or older nationwide from the 3rd to the 7th (August 1st) at the request of the Energy Economy Newspaper, President Lee’s support for state affairs was 43.3%, down 2.6 percentage points from last week.

Lee’s approval rating has remained in the 40 percent range for eight weeks, hitting a new low following last week.

Negative assessments of respondents who said they were “wrong” rose 2.5 percentage points to 53.0%. “I don’t know well” was 3.6%.

Realmeter analyzed, “In addition to the controversy over the real estate tax reform, the revision of the criminal procedure law, and the aftermath of the military coup remarks, the heat wave and economic instability factors have increased, especially among Seoul, conservatives, and the elderly.”

In a survey of 1,007 voters aged 18 or older nationwide from the 6th to the 7th, the Democratic Party of Korea fell 0.5 percentage points to 44.6 percent, and the people’s power fell 0.1 percentage points to 37.6 percent. The gap between the two parties is 7.0 percentage points.

It was followed by 2.9% of the Cho Kuk Innovation Party, 2.9% of the Reform New Party, and 1.5% of the Progressive Party. Other parties accounted for 1.7 percent and non-partisan groups 9.0 percent.

Regarding the Democratic Party’s approval rating, Realmeter analyzed, “The approval rating fell slightly as the supporters of Seoul and the 20s and conservatives broke away due to the controversy over the real estate tax reform and intensifying factional conflict between the party leaders at the convention.”

Regarding the public’s support rate, he added, “Seoul, Daegu and Gyeongbuk and conservative groups gathered on the offensive against the government’s tax bill and the revision of the criminal procedure law, but the approval rate showed a sideways trend as internal strife within the party and bad news from the leadership were offset.”

Both surveys were conducted in a wireless (100%) automatic response method.

The sample error of the presidential approval rating survey is ±2.0 percentage points at the 95% confidence level, and the sample error of the party approval rating survey is ±3.1 percentage points at the 95% confidence level. The response rates were 4.0 percent and 3.4 percent, respectively.
