The finished car industry has started to expand consumer choices and recover sales with a model that has strengthened marketability. Competition in the market is intensifying as design improvements, convenience specifications, and price adjustments are made simultaneously in various models, including sports utility vehicles (SUVs), sedans, electric vehicles, hydrogen electric vehicles, pickup trucks, and imported electric sports cars.
Hyundai Motor Company released the 2027 Ioniq 5 in June, reorganizing its trim and lowering the price of some models by up to 1.6 million won. I added the tailgate emergency lamp to the entire trim and the upper trim has a 100W USB charging port as default. The top inspection trim has also been newly operated to expand high-end convenience specifications.

Kia has also upgraded its sedan and pickup truck at the same time. The 2027 K5, a mid-sized sedan, has applied 100WC-type USB to all trims and expanded popular convenience and safety specifications for each trim. Prestige has defaulted to highway driving assistance and navigation-based smart cruise control, while Novles has added a smart power trunk.
The pickup truck 2027 Tasman set the entry trim price at 35 million won, 2.5 million won lower than before. The range of genuine accessories has been expanded, and surround view monitors, remote smart parking assistance, digital keys 2, and electronic four-wheel drive systems have been basically applied to the new best selection trim.
Kia also introduced a Tasman open bed that can load up to 1 ton. It has applied three-sided opening and closing boxes to target small business owners and industrial site demand, and is also equipped with a large number of advanced driver assistance systems and convenience specifications.
Imported brands have also joined the competition to change the model year. Porsche AG unveiled its 2027 Taycan. The biggest change is the E-Shift function that implements the actual shift. By applying virtual gear shifting and Porsche Electric Sports Sound, it has implemented emotional driving similar to that of internal combustion engine sports cars in electric vehicles.

Swedish premium electric vehicle brand Polestar launched its 2027 Polestar 4 coupe. The existing SUV coupe was renamed coupe and the trim was reconstructed. The chassis setting has been improved to increase driving stability, and the price of dual motor models has been reduced by 2 million won from the previous one. By adjusting the configuration of options, it lowers the price of Napa leather packages and glass loops, increasing consumer accessibility.
The industry expects the model to expand for the time being as it has a great effect of improving marketability that consumers can feel while reducing the burden of new car development costs. In particular, digital convenience specifications such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), digital infotainment, high-power USB charging, and OTA updates are becoming clear.
“The recent model of model year change is characterized by simultaneous improvement in price competitiveness and marketability beyond simple option addition,” an industry official said. “The segmentation strategy that reflects various consumer tastes and lifestyles will be further expanded.”
