KTR adopts Anritsu’s MT8000A test station for 6G FR3 evaluation.

TOKYO, Aug 17, 2026 — Anritsu Corp said on Aug. 17 that South Korea’s Korea Testing & Research Institute (KTR) has adopted the Japanese company’s MT8000A radio communication test station to strengthen testing and certification capabilities for next-generation wireless communications.
The MT8000A is a test solution designed for development of devices including 5G terminals and supports the FR3 frequency range, which is being studied globally as a candidate band for 6G mobile communications, according to the release. With the deployment, KTR has built an evaluation environment covering 4G, 5G and FR3, expanding its technology assessment and verification capabilities.
KTR introduced the system to build a testing base supporting work from research and development through technical verification for certification and standardization. The need to prepare evaluation environments with future standardization and certification in mind is growing as research on practical use of the FR3 band advances.
KTR said it has been actively building an FR3 testbed to support development of 6G technologies and plans to continue providing testing and evaluation environments for research institutions and industry working on 6G standardization and commercialization.
KTR also plans to promote FR3 technology evaluation and technical verification for 6G standardization, while considering future use in 6G signaling tests, the release said. It plans to use the MT8000A together with Anritsu’s automated test software to improve the sophistication and efficiency of research, development and evaluation activities in the FR3 band.
KTR is a testing and certification organization headquartered in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. It provides testing and certification services across a wide range of fields, including information and communications equipment, and supports technology development and product certification for companies and research institutions in South Korea and overseas.
FR3 generally refers to spectrum between the sub-7 gigahertz bands used for much of current 5G deployment and the higher-frequency millimeter wave bands. Work on 6G standards is still at an early stage, with research institutions, equipment makers and regulators evaluating candidate frequency bands and test frameworks ahead of formal standard-setting.
