LG Electronics (066570.KS) said on the 21st that it won 17 awards at the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) 2026, one of the world’s three most prestigious design competitions. The results reflected strong reviews for new products including Cloid, a home robot the company is preparing to commercialize next year.

IDEA ranks alongside the Red Dot and iF awards as one of the design industry’s most authoritative honors worldwide. Each year it evaluates entries on design innovation, improvements to user experience and commercial viability. Winners are chosen across 20 categories, including home, consumer technology, commercial and industrial products, and packaging.

Cloid won a Gold Award, with judges praising a design that responds to voice and gestures, interacts through a range of facial expressions and helps with household chores. The award made Cloid a triple winner this year, sweeping IDEA after earlier honors from the Red Dot and iF awards.

Twelve LG Electronics products earned Gold Awards at this year’s IDEA, including Cloid, the LG PuriCare System air purifier — installed on the ceiling to maximize use of space — and the LG gram Pro, an ultralight laptop built with Aerominium, a new material used in the aerospace industry.

Bronze Awards went to the LG SIGNATURE OLED W, a wireless wallpaper TV about 9mm thick; the indoor unit of the LG Therma V air-source heat pump; the LG UltraFine evo, a high-resolution professional monitor; the LG Smart Monitor Swing, whose screen can be adjusted freely; and the LG PuriCare AeroMini, an air purifier that can be used even in tight spaces. The xboom audio lineup and LG Sound Suite were also selected as winners in the packaging category.

“This recognition reflects our design competitiveness in blending with customers’ living spaces while enhancing both convenience and aesthetics,” said Jung Wook-jun, head of LG Electronics’ Design Management Center. “We will continue to deliver differentiated customer experiences through customer-focused, innovative design.”
