Samsung Electronics, Samsung SDI, SK Hynix, and PharmaResearch were the most net buyers by high-yield investors trading at Mirae Asset Securities on the 24th.

According to Mirae Asset Securities, Samsung Electronics was the most bought stock by 9:30 a.m. among stock trading customers by the “super high number of stocks,” which are the top 1% return on investment in the past month.

Shares of Samsung Electronics are trading at 263,000 won, down 6.57 percent from the previous trading day. The sharp drop in stock prices has driven low buying.

KB Securities announced on the 24th that Samsung Electronics’ expansion of shareholder returns could be a turning point in its revaluation of corporate value, suggesting the possibility of switching to long-term welfare investment assets.

On the 21st, Samsung Electronics announced an expected additional return of 90 trillion won to 110 trillion won in accordance with its shareholder return policy for the last three years (2024-2026).

KB Securities estimated that Samsung Electronics’ expected operating profit for this year is 380 trillion won, and the additional return will reach 110 trillion won.

This is a calculation that an additional 80 trillion won can be returned in the future, excluding the already scheduled 30 trillion won in cash dividends in the third quarter. The cash dividend of 30 trillion won in the third quarter consists of 2.45 trillion won in regular-quarter dividends and 27.55 trillion won in special cash dividends.

Samsung SDI is second in net buying. Samsung SDI is trading at 511,000 won at this time, up 6.90 percent from the previous trading day.

Earlier, Samsung SDI announced the sale of its stake equivalent to about 4.45 trillion won (5%) of its shares in Samsung Display. The trading day will be the 27th, and the holding rate will be lowered from 15.2% to 10.2% after the sale.

Park Jin-soo, a researcher at Shinyoung Securities, said, “Some of the funds raised through the sale of the stake will be used to repay loans,” adding, “Most of them will be used to invest more in SDI-GM Synergy Cells, which was a joint venture (JV) with GM.”

Samsung SDI announced on the 14th that it will acquire all of GM’s stake (49.99%) from the JV and convert it into a sole corporation.

Researcher Park said, “As the stake sale is sold, the equity method profit of affiliates will decrease by two-thirds compared to the previous one, but the appearance of the new line and the potential for profit growth will exceed that.”

“As the transition to a single corporate system, it is also positive that production battery profits can be recognized as 100% controlling shareholder net income,” he said.

SK Hynix ranked third in net buying. SK Hynix officially announced on the 23rd (local time) that the HBM4 12-layer product, which is a 6th generation high-bandwidth memory, is currently in production and the 16-layer product has entered the certification stage (Qualification).

At one point, SK Hynix suffered from various rumors such as a possible delay in the supply schedule due to design changes in response to Nvidia’s demand for performance improvement.

However, with this announcement, it reaffirmed that mass production of HBM4 12-layer products is proceeding normally, and also specified for the first time that the 16th layer has advanced to the customer certification stage.
