POSCO E&C announced on the 24th that ‘Otier Banpo’ in Seocho-gu, Seoul, won a total of four main awards at the Red Dot Design Awards 2026 and the K-Design Awards 2026.
Otière Banpo’s exterior design “The Peak Wave” won the Red Dot Sustainable Design category and the K-Design Award. The design was inspired by the Han River waves, which implemented a dynamic skyline with roof curves and curtain wall facades. In particular, the design-type solar power generation system was applied to the outer wall of the building as an exterior material to catch two rabbits at the same time: aesthetics and energy productivity.
Otière’s sign system “The Flow” won the Red Dot Award for Inclusive Design. The system is designed to make it easy for men and women of all ages to find their way within the complex. It is characterized by arranging information according to the movement path and eye level so that children and elderly people do not wander on the road.
The community ‘Confluence’ won the K-Design Award. It is an immersive community design that combines sound, scent, and natural elements centered on the flow of space. Customized music based on artificial intelligence (AI) is characteristically linked to Otière-only scents, natural lighting, and indoor landscapes.
An official from POSCO E&C said, “The design of apartment houses should not only enhance the appearance, but also solve real housing problems such as energy saving and improving space accessibility.”
