LG UltraGear 25G590B is a 24.5-inch Full HD monitor with native 1000Hz refresh rate
LG has opened US preorders for the UltraGear 25G590B, its 25-inch gaming monitor with a native 1000Hz refresh rate at 1920×1080 resolution. The monitor is officially priced at $999.99, which works out to almost exactly $1 for every hertz.
LG first announced the 25G590B in May as the world’s first consumer gaming monitor capable of running at a native 1000Hz at Full HD. This is different from high-refresh dual-mode displays that reach 1000Hz only after dropping the resolution to 1280×720. The 25G590B uses an IPS panel and runs at 1000Hz without lowering its native 1080p resolution.
The monitor can actually go beyond its advertised specification. LG lists an optional 1100Hz overclocking mode, although this comes with some restrictions. AMD FreeSync Premium is not supported at 1100Hz, while NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible certification only covers operation up to 1000Hz.

LG says reaching the maximum refresh rate requires DisplayPort 2.1 and Windows 11. The company currently lists GeForce RTX 50 series, Radeon RX 9070, RX 9060 and RX 7900 series GPUs or newer as supported hardware for 1000Hz operation. The final refresh rate can still depend on the CPU, GPU, memory, game and graphics driver.

Other features include LG Motion Blur Reduction Pro, NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium support. Connectivity includes two HDMI ports and DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20 support, while the stand offers height, tilt and swivel adjustment.
The UltraGear 25G590B is now available for preorder from LG in the US for $999.99. LG says expedited shipping is scheduled to begin September 1 or when the product becomes available. At this price, buyers are essentially paying $1 per Hz for what is currently the fastest native 1080p gaming monitor announced for the consumer market.
