Galaxy Corporation is ready to take K-pop to a new level with…robots?
Choi Yong-ho, founder and CEO of the Seoul-based entertainment unicorn, announced plans to build a humanoid robot idol with the intention of sending it on a world tour in the second half of 2027. Yong-ho revealed the news at the opening of Galaxy Robot Park, the world’s first robot-themed park, and explained that the robot act is being positioned as the company’s next major touring enterprise after BIGBANG and Taemin complete their current global runs.
Galaxy Corporation is no stranger to the music world, managing superstars such as BIGBANG frontman G-Dragon, SHINee’s Taemin, actor Song Kang-ho, and singer Kim Jong-kook.

BIGBANG recently opened their 20th anniversary world tour, titled “XX: COSMOS,” in Goyang. Taemin’s “LiMiNaL” world tour kicks off in Seoul at Jamsil Indoor Stadium on Sept. 18-20 before moving through North America, Latin America, and Europe, wrapping up on Nov. 24.
The robot idol announcement builds on Galaxy Corp.’s existing investment in robotic performance. The company opened Galaxy Robot Park in Gangdong District, where three robots built by Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics perform to tracks including G-Dragon’s “POWER” and Taemin’s “Advice.”
Choi has outlined an even more ambitious roadmap. At the AI for Good Global Summit in July, he framed robotics as the logical next phase of a strategy that already spans physical idols and the virtual world. “Robots are next,” he said in a prior CNBC appearance. “The three coexist, and I think the coexistence will happen in the next five years. Galaxy Corp. is preparing a lot for that day.”
