SK Energy is teaming up with Naver Pay to expand benefits and improve payment convenience for customers at SK gas stations.
SK Energy said on the 31st that it had signed a memorandum of understanding with Naver Pay to overhaul the customer experience at its stations.
The agreement combines SK Energy’s nationwide network of gas stations with Naver Pay’s simple-payment service and points rewards to make the stations easier to use.
The two companies will roll out Naver Pay point accrual for customers at SK gas stations and expand cooperation into areas including simple payments and joint marketing.
Customers will be able to choose to earn Naver Pay points when refueling at SK gas stations as early as January next year. The points can be spent across a wide range of online and offline merchants for everyday purchases.
Ahead of the full service launch, the companies are running a four-month promotion from September through December. Customers who pay 50,000 won or more for fuel at SK gas stations using Naver Pay with Samsung Pay will receive 3,000 won worth of Naver Pay points. Each month, 300 participants will also be drawn at random to receive an additional 50,000 won in Naver Pay points.
“Through this partnership with Naver Pay, we will offer SK gas station customers more tangible benefits and a more convenient payment experience,” said Bae Jung-han, head of SK Energy’s marketing division. “This promotion ahead of the official launch will let customers experience those benefits first.”
