Coupang said on the 31st that it has integrated Rocketpay, its in-house simple payment service, into the payment system of MyRealTrip, a domestic travel application.

Coupang Pay formally launched the Rocketpay simple payment service on MyRealTrip on the 25th of this month. Coupang customers can now pay for airline tickets, accommodations and tours and tickets on MyRealTrip using payment methods already saved to their accounts, without signing up separately.

The tie-up with MyRealTrip marks the first time Rocketpay has been linked directly into the payment system of an outside platform, going beyond merchants served through payment gateway (PG) arrangements. Coupang said it plans to expand where Rocketpay can be used across online and offline areas where there is customer demand, including shopping and everyday services.

An official at Coupang Pay said the MyRealTrip integration is “an important first step in expanding Rocketpay beyond payments inside Coupang into an everyday payment system that connects directly with external partners’ services.” The official added that the company will “continue to expand a range of partnerships to strengthen a more convenient payment experience and benefits for Coupang customers.”
