Pitcher Ko Woo-seok (photo), who recently returned to Korea after completing his U.S. challenge, returned to the LG Twins for the first time in more than two years. LG announced on the 2nd, “We completed the contract with pitcher Ko Woo-seok for a one-year contract period and an annual salary of 500 million won on the 1st, and completed player registration.” Ko Woo-suk, who joined the 2017 rookie draft as the first pick and played only at LG until 2023, has challenged the MLB stage in the U.S. from 2024 until recently through San Diego, Miami, Detroit, and Minnesota. However, he spent most of his time in the minor leagues and recently decided to return to Korea after receiving a notice from Minnesota waiting to be released from the team and not receiving an offer from other clubs.
The club said, “Go Woo-seok, who returned during the season, will receive an annual salary of 150 million won, which is three months for the rest of the season,” adding, “We expect it to be a great addition to LG’s pitching power in the rest of the regular season this year.” Ko Woo-seok, who recorded 19 wins, 26 losses, 139 saves, 6 holds, and a 3.18 ERA in the KBO League, said, “I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support regardless of their time in Korea or the United States. There are not many seasons left, but I will do my best to throw it to win the team,” he said.
