The stocks most heavily bought by high-return investors trading through Mirae Asset Securities on the morning of the 3rd were Samsung Electronics (005930.KS), LS (006260.KS) and Hyosung Heavy Industries (298040.KS), in that order.

According to Mirae Asset Securities, Samsung Electronics was the most-bought stock through 11 a.m. among “super traders” — the top 1% of the brokerage’s clients by investment return over the past month. Samsung Electronics was trading at 252,250 won, up 0.70% from the previous session.

The buying marked a reversal for a stock that had been the top net sale just a day earlier. Analysts read the shift as bargain hunting in chip stocks after the surge in U.S. Treasury yields eased and New York stocks rebounded for the first time in four sessions.

In U.S. trading overnight, Dell led the mood with a 15.81% jump after raising its annual earnings outlook on surging demand for artificial intelligence servers. Nvidia (3.21%), Micron (2.43%) and Qualcomm (2.01%) all advanced, and SK hynix’s American depositary receipts (ADRs) rose 2.61%. Broadcom’s results, released after the close, also beat market forecasts on both revenue and earnings per share (EPS) on the strength of AI chips, further lifting sentiment toward Korean chipmakers.

LS ranked second in net buying. As of 11 a.m., LS was trading at 291,000 won, down 1.85% from the previous session. The company has been a fixture near the top of the super traders’ buy list, ranking first in net buying as of the morning of the 1st and 10th on the 2nd. As a holding company with solid earnings at key subsidiaries including LS Electric, LS Cable & System and LS MnM, it appears to have drawn buyers on the dip.

Hyosung Heavy Industries, third in net buying, fell 1.30% to 2.729 million won. The stock has declined for four consecutive sessions since the 31st of last month. Brokerages have set target prices for Hyosung Heavy Industries between 4 million and 5 million won, leaving a wide gap with the current share price. SK Securities recently maintained a 4 million won target, citing growth potential in the U.S. power grid business. With the business outlook bright but the share price sliding day after day, the super traders appear to have stepped in to buy at lower levels.

The most heavily sold stocks of the day were Samsung Electro-Mechanics (009150.KS), Alteogen (196170.KS) and Samsung SDI, in that order. In the previous session, the top net buys were SK hynix, Samsung Electro-Mechanics and Alteogen, while the top net sales were Samsung Electronics, Woori Financial Group and SK Innovation.
