Hyundai Rotem (064350) is significantly expanding financial support and broadening business participation opportunities for partner companies in its Eco Plant (EP) business division. The measures, unveiled at the “2026 Hyundai Rotem Eco Plant (EP) Win-Win Cooperation Conference” held at its Dangjin plant in South Chungcheong Province, aim to simultaneously secure work volume for partners and ease their funding burdens.
The event was attended by representatives from 30 EP division partner companies and Hyundai Rotem executives and employees, reaffirming their commitment to building long-term partnerships. The EP Business Division is the organization responsible for supplying industrial facilities and automation solutions, including smart logistics, mobility production equipment, and airport and steel mill infrastructure.
Financial Support and Investment Expansion
To strengthen the foundation for sustainable growth among its partners, Hyundai Rotem will operate a Shared Growth Fund totaling ₩150 billion (approximately $110.5 million) across all business divisions this year. The fund will support interest rate reductions for partner companies. In addition, the company is launching a ₩1.5 trillion (approximately $1.1 billion) interest rate reduction program in collaboration with Shinhan Bank and the Export-Import Bank of Korea, aimed at lowering the interest burden on partners.
Investment in the EP business division will more than triple over the next five years. The strategy is to ensure that the trickle-down effects of expanded investment flow to partner companies.
Expanded Business Participation Opportunities
Bidding opportunities will also be broadened to allow partners to move beyond their existing business areas. Partners that previously participated only in certain segments will be given bidding opportunities in other businesses, enabling them to enter diverse fields including smart logistics, mobility, production facilities, airport equipment, and steel and industrial infrastructure. The company will also expand transaction scope to include hydrogen facilities, port transfer robots, and railway E&M (electrical and mechanical) work, supporting new business participation and work volume acquisition.
Technology Protection, Training, and Safety Incentives
Hyundai Rotem is also focusing on technology protection as part of its win-win culture initiatives. The company will systematize its technology data request process and provide security licenses free of charge. Professional consulting services offering proprietary technology security diagnostics and improvement measures will help partners fundamentally prevent technology leakage.
Hyundai Rotem’s specialized technical training institute will expand education programs for partner company employees. Customized training tailored to industrial field requirements—ranging from quality, production, and design job training to artificial intelligence (AI) applications and work automation—will support the enhancement of technical capabilities and job expertise.
On the safety management front, the company has newly established a “Safety Excellence Partner Award” program and presented awards to five outstanding partners at the event. Excellent partners will be selected through semi-annual safety evaluations, with incentives provided based on the scale of deployed personnel, including cash awards and exemption from contract performance guarantee bonds.
A Hyundai Rotem official stated, “The quality of partner components is the very source of strengthening finished product competitiveness,” adding, “Amid an increasingly sophisticated industrial landscape, we will take the lead in fostering a win-win culture that enables growth alongside our partners.”
