Samsung Electronics will officially launch the Galaxy S26 FE, a budget-friendly smartphone loaded with flagship features, in South Korea on the 4th. The device will be released in a single 256GB storage configuration priced at ₩1.045 million (approximately $770).
The phone is available in three colors: Blueberry, Graphite, and Pistachio. Sales channels include Samsung Store, Samsung.com, and online and offline retail locations operated by South Korea’s three major mobile carriers.
Although positioned in the budget lineup, the device focuses on delivering an experience close to premium models by incorporating the latest camera features and Galaxy AI.
A standout feature is “My Fan Cam,” which tracks a specific person’s movements within a video and enables editing centered around that individual. “Super Steady” supports a horizontal lock option, allowing stable framing even in high-motion situations.
The operating system is based on One UI 9. Galaxy AI understands user context and situations to suggest relevant information and tasks through features such as “Now Brief” and “Now Nudge.”
Buyers of unlocked models can join the “New Galaxy AI Subscription Club.” Membership guarantees up to 50% residual value upon device return, along with Samsung Care+ coverage and accessory package discounts.
Additional benefits include a 6-month Google AI Pro subscription and a 2-month Wela subscription. Three 30% discount coupons for accessories usable on Samsung.com are also included.
Samsung Electronics is continuing its strategy of narrowing the gap between flagship and budget tiers with this new release. The company aims to target value-conscious consumers by strengthening AI features and camera performance compared to its predecessor while keeping the price in the low ₩1 million range.
However, some market observers have noted that budget model prices are gradually trending upward. This marks the first time the Galaxy FE series has exceeded the ₩1 million launch price threshold.
Industry analysts view Samsung Electronics’ bundling of its proprietary AI subscription service with Google AI Pro access as an attempt to build a recurring revenue model beyond hardware sales. The subscription club’s residual value guarantee upon device return is also interpreted as a strategic move to create a virtuous cycle linked to the used phone market.
