The labor union in charge of finished products such as home appliances, which has been relatively marginalized at the all-time performance-based bonus party, has decided to hold a rally in front of Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong’s home, urging to close the compensation gap.

According to the industry on the 5th, Samsung Electronics’ labor union accompanied (companion union) plans to continue rallies and one-man demonstrations near Chairman Lee’s home in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, starting with the launching ceremony on the 18th. No deadline has been set, and it is known that a one-person protest will be held on days when the assembly cannot be reported.

The accompanying union claims that the DX sector was excessively marginalized during the wage negotiations of Samsung Electronics’ labor-management agreement in May. This is to say that the gap between device solutions (DS), which are in charge of semiconductor business, is too large.

The union is also asking employees in the DX sector to provide 1,000 shares of its company per person, prepare and distribute common resources based on a certain percentage of company performance, and apply the same basic salary increase rate to the company.

Earlier, they held a rally near Samsung Electronics’ Seocho headquarters in Gangnam-gu on the 21st of last month. The union argued that the deterioration in profitability was a management failure of management, and asked for communication with management about the requirements of employees in the DX sector.

However, critics say that the DX sector’s request for a collective share payment is an unreasonable demand. In addition, some say that there is no justification for belated collective action in the context of negotiations between labor and management.
