LG is hosting a large-scale event bringing together the group’s AI transformation (AX) achievements and future technologies in one place. “LG Spark 2026,” held from the 7th to the 17th at LG Sciencepark in Magok, Seoul, will serve as the stage, with developers from global big tech companies including Nvidia, Google, Amazon, and Microsoft participating in large numbers to share the latest AI technology trends.
This year’s event has been restructured around accelerating AX as its core theme. LG Spark, launched in 2023 by consolidating technology innovation events previously held separately by each affiliate, attracted approximately 60,000 attendees last year. Starting this year, the event has shifted its character to a platform for spreading AI innovation cases across the entire group. LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, top technology executives from affiliates, and representatives from global big tech companies are expected to attend.
The event consists of five programs: LG Tech Fair (7th–8th), LG AX Fair (10th–11th), LG AI Talk Concert (14th–15th), LG AI DevCon (15th–16th), and Culture Week (15th–17th).
The Tech Fair, held in the first week, will unveil a total of 41 technologies: 13 core technologies across the “One LG” three pillars that consolidate affiliate capabilities, and 28 ABC (AI, Bio, Clean Tech) technologies representing future growth engines.
In the One LG segment, new technologies in three areas—physical AI, AI data centers (AIDC), and automotive electronics—will be introduced. In physical AI, technology linking the home robot “Cloid” with AI appliances to autonomously perform cleaning, air management, and item delivery will be exhibited. In the AIDC segment, hybrid bonding equipment and high-thermal-dissipation adhesive film (NCF) for improving AI semiconductor performance will be showcased, while the automotive electronics segment will feature next-generation switchable glazing film (SGF) for vehicles and hairpin motors.
In the ABC segment, technologies to be unveiled include advertising customer targeting based on a “behavior foundation model” that predicts in-home behavior, hair loss care materials, and next-generation technologies that simultaneously improve battery performance and safety.
The AX Fair, held in the second week, is a platform for sharing 68 cases of AI adoption results that affiliates have applied in actual business operations. LG Electronics will introduce AI that verifies compliance issues in marketing content, while LG Innotek will present vision AI that detects safety and environmental risks. LG Chem will unveil an AI agent that supports everything from R&D project planning to verification, and LG Uplus will showcase technology that optimizes token costs for AI models.
At the AI Talk Concert, hosted by the LG AI Research Institute, the industrial validation results and development roadmap of LG’s proprietary generative AI model “EXAONE” will be announced. Previously held as a separate event, it has been integrated into the LG Spark program starting this year.
AI DevCon is a revamped event that expands the scope of the existing software developer-focused “LG SDC” to include AI developers. Developers from global big tech companies including Nvidia, Google, Amazon, and Microsoft will participate to exchange the latest AI technologies and use cases. Additionally, the “LG Promptathon Challenge 2026” will be held concurrently, where participants develop services applicable to real business settings using EXAONE and prompts. Ten teams that advance to the finals will develop EXAONE-based services that solve problems arising in LG products and services, daily life, and work processes, with outstanding entries to be considered for actual service deployment.
Culture Week, which caps off the event, will be organized as a cultural festival bringing together employees, their families, university students, and local residents. A “Discovery Tour” will be conducted for 50 university students aspiring to careers in AI, with LG researchers participating as mentors. Experiential programs including an EXAONE drawing challenge, AI short film festival, and AI photo booth will also be operated. Lectures by artist Park Cheon-hyu and ecologist Professor Choi Jae-chun exploring the role of art and humanities in the AI era have also been arranged.
Jeong Su-heon, president of LG Sciencepark, said, “Through LG Spark, where AI technology and culture come together, we will strive to create innovative products and services that greatly contribute to customers’ lives.”
Approximately 25,000 people work at LG Sciencepark, including R&D organizations of affiliates such as LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Innotek, LG Chem, LG Energy Solution, LG Household & Health Care, and LG Uplus, as well as partner companies and startup personnel. This event is expected to serve as a platform for LG to publicly disclose the current achievements and future direction of the AX strategy it has been pursuing at the group level. In particular, it is seen as an intention to strengthen its position within the AI ecosystem by showcasing its collaborative relationships with global big tech companies.
