The “Eagle Corps” Hanwha Eagles have won consecutive games.
Hanwha, led by head coach Kim Kyung-moon, won 11-6 against manager Kim Tae-hyung’s Lotte Giants in an away game of the 2026 professional baseball KBO League regular season at Sajik Baseball Stadium in Busan on the 5th.
Hanwha, which won two consecutive games and confirmed the Winning Series at the same time, recorded 51 wins, 3 draws, and 65 losses. He broke his long nine-game losing streak against Lotte the previous day (4th), and continued his momentum. It is the first time in 37 days that Hanwha has won two consecutive games since its second consecutive victory against Lotte in Daejeon from July 29 to July 30. On the other hand, Lotte, which has lost two consecutive games, took its 65th loss (51 wins and 2 draws).

Along with pitcher Hwang Jun-seo, Hanwha set up the starting list with Shim Woo-joon (striker), Choi In-ho (middle fielder), Moon Hyun-bin (left fielder), Kang Baek-ho (designated hitter), Noh Si-hwan (third baseman), Jonathan Peraza (right fielder), Kim Tae-yeon (first baseman), Heo In-seo (fosu), and Hwang Young-mook (second baseman).
In response, Lotte built the lineup with Hwang Sung-bin (center fielder), Na Seung-yeop (first baseman), Victor Reyes (designated hitter), Han Dong-hee (third baseman), Ko Seung-min (second baseman), Jeon Min-jae (striker), Son Sung-bin (catcher), Son Ho-young (right fielder), and Cho Se-jin (left fielder). The starting pitcher is Na Kyun An.
It was Hanwha’s job to gain the upper hand. In the top of the first inning, Kang Baek-ho hit a two-run timely double that separated the right-center with one out and runners on first and third bases, which led to Shim Woo-joon’s left-handed hit and Moon Hyun-bin’s right-handed hit. Noh Si-hwan then hit a timely hit during an RBI single.

Lotte wasn’t just watching either. In the bottom of the first inning, Ko Seung-min hit a tiebreaking three-run home run with a distance of 125m with two outs and runners on first and second bases, complete with Na Seung-yeop’s walk, Reyes’ groundout to shortstop, and Han Dong-hee’s hit to right-center field. Go Seungmin’s 15th shot of the season.
Hanwha needed an additional point to win, but failed to take advantage of the opportunity in the top of the fourth inning. Peraza’s walk, Kim Tae-yeon’s hit to the middle and Heo In-seo’s walk made the bases loaded with two outs, but Hwang Young-mook grounded out to shortstop.
It was the same for Lotte that missed the chance. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Son Sung-bin’s left-handed hit, Cho Se-jin’s middle hit, and Hwang Sung-bin’s left-handed hit connected the bases with two outs, but Na Seung-yeop struck out. In the bottom of the fifth inning, Reyes’ left-handed hit and Han Dong-hee’s walk completed the first and second bases, but Ko Seung-min (left-handed fly), Jeon Min-jae (striker grounder), and Son Sung-bin (left-handed fly) failed to produce timely hits.
Hanwha, which overcame the crisis in succession, resumed scoring production in the top of the seventh inning. When Hwang Young-mook drew a walk after one out, Shim Woo-joon fired a two-run shot to the left with a distance of 120m. Shim Woo-joon’s 6th shot of the season.

Hanwha, which gained momentum, ran away far by decorating the top of the eighth inning with a big inning. He scored six points with Peraza’s timely double to the right, Heo In-seo’s timely RBI single to the right, Shim Woo-joon’s timely two-run shot to the middle of the two-run game, and Choi In-ho’s two-run shot (season No. 3).
Lotte, which was in a hurry, recovered three runs in the bottom of the ninth inning with Han Dong-hee’s one-run double to the left and Park Seung-wook’s two-run double to the left, but that was it. That’s how Hanwha faced a winning streak.
Hanwha starter Hwang Jun-seo threw 87 pitches, allowing five hits, one homer, three outs, five strikeouts, and three runs in four innings. Park Sang-won (one scoreless inning), Jang Yoo-ho (win, one scoreless inning), Cho Dong-wook (one scoreless inning), Kim Seo-hyun (one scoreless inning), and Lee Min-woo (three runs and zero earned runs in one inning) kept the mound, while Shim Woo-joon (three hits, one homer and four RBIs in five at-bats), the main character of the final shot, shone. In-ho Choi (1 hit, 1 home run and 2 RBIs in 5 at-bats), Baekho Kang (1 hit and 2 RBIs in 4 at-bats), Si-hwan Noh (2 hits and 1 RBI in 5 at-bats), Hyun-bin Moon (3 hits in 4 at-bats), and In-seo Heo (1 hit and 1 RBI in 4 at-bats) also supported them solidly.
Lotte’s poor bullpen was painful. The loss went to Park Jung-min (one hit, one homer, two walks, and two runs in one inning). This is the third loss of the season (6 wins, 1 save, 10 holds). Ko Seung-min (1 hit, 1 home run and 3 RBIs in 4 at-bats) worked hard, but he was not strong enough to prevent the team’s defeat.
