Lee Jin-yeop, vice president of Samsung Electronics, Jang Ji-eun, vice president of SK Hynix, and Song Geun-seok, vice president of HKINON, received the Science and Technology Medal at the “2026 Technology Developers Day Ceremony” held on the 7th. It has been recognized for its contribution to boosting national competitiveness in the memory industry and the pharmaceutical and bio industries.
Vice President Lee won the second-grade Science and Technology Medal of Innovation. He was recognized for leading the memory market by mass-producing the world’s first 1 Gigabit NAND flash memory and developing vertically stacked NAND flash memory. Vice President Jang and Vice President Song won the third grade of the Order of Science and Technology. Vice President Jang has developed ultra-high capacity server DRAM memory to enhance competitiveness in the memory market. Vice President Song was credited with developing a new drug that overcame the limitations of existing gastrointestinal diseases.
