Dechert strengthens its corporate and securities practice group with the appointment of two partners from Milbank – David Cho, ex-managing partner of the Seoul office, and special counsel Min Kim.
Cho returns to Dechert after more than four years at Milbank. He previously spent nearly a decade at Dechert as head of its Hong Kong office and co-managing partner of Asia.
He brings more than 30 years of experience advising multinational clients on cross-border M&A, corporate finance and capital markets transactions across sectors, including private equity, technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, insurance and energy.
Kim joins from Milbank’s Singapore office, where he served as special counsel for more than seven years. He advises corporate and private equity clients on cross-border M&A transactions, joint ventures and strategic investments across APAC, with experience in the technology, digital infrastructure and energy transition sectors. He also advises Korean conglomerates on outbound investments into Southeast Asia and global markets.
“David and Min’s appointments bolster the firm’s Asia-Pacific and global M&A capabilities, while enhancing Dechert’s offering to clients across the private capital lifecycle. Their arrivals reflect the firm’s broader growth strategy to invest in key markets, including Singapore as Dechert’s APAC regional hub, and reinforce our ability to support clients on complex, cross-border transactions,” Dean Collins, Dechert’s Singapore managing partner, told Asia Business Law Journal.
