LG has officially launched the UltraGear Evo 45GX950B in the US. An upgraded version of the older 45GX950A, this new 45-inch 5K2K OLED monitor introduces new AI features, but the panel and core specifications remain unchanged.

The LG UltraGear Evo 45GX950B-B is now available in the US, less than a fortnight after going on preorder in Japan. Following the recent 39GX950B-B‘s launch, the new 45-inch model sticks with a 3rd Gen MLA+ WOLED panel instead of the brand’s latest 4th Gen Tandem OLED technology. Specifically, the 45GX950B-B uses the same panel as the UltraGear OLED 45GX950A from last year, but LG has now added new AI features, including AI Upscaling, AI Scene Optimization, and AI Sound.

Buyers can purchase the UltraGear Evo 45GX950B-B directly from LG for $1,999.99, the same price as the older model. At the same price point, LG also offers the UltraGear 52G930B-B with a larger 52-inch 5K2K VA panel.

LG UltraGear Evo 45GX950B-B features

The UltraGear Evo 45GX950B-B is built around a 3rd Gen WOLED panel featuring a native 5K2K (5120 x 2160) resolution, an 800R curvature, and a 165Hz refresh rate. With dual-mode support, gamers can switch to a faster 330Hz refresh rate at 5120 x 1080 resolution. Like the older 45GX950A, the new model reaches up to 1,300 nits peak HDR brightness, covers 98.5% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, and is certified under the DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification.

Compared to its predecessor, the main additions here are the new AI features. According to LG, the 45GX950B-B can upscale lower-resolution content to near-5K2K clarity and automatically optimize picture and sound settings based on content on the screen. Otherwise, the monitor retains the same core specifications and connectivity options, including HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, and a USB-C port with 90W power delivery.

If you’re looking for LG’s newer 4th Gen Tandem OLED technology, you may want to consider the smaller 39GX950B-B instead.
