LG Electronics (LG) recently had its region-specific LG Innofest 2026 APAC in Busan, South Korea, marking the end of its 2026 InnoFest series
Under the theme “Innovation, Forward Together”, the company showcased new home appliances and solutions designed around Asian consumers’ lifestyles.

We were invited to go for this exclusive event, and here’s a breakdown of what’s new and what to look out for:
First up, kitchen appliances for the Asian household
It’s no lie that us Asians, very specifically Malaysians, take our food very seriously. So naturally, the kitchen is a very important part of the house. LG has addressed one issue that many face: space, or rather, lack thereof.
One of the main highlights from the event is the new Fit & Max refrigerator design, featuring a Zero Clearance Hinge that allows the fridge to be installed flush against the walls without wasting any space.
That means you can maximise your kitchen space without worrying about that awkward gap you’d need to open your refrigerator door. With LG fridges, expect AI Fresh and AI Saving Modes, features that optimise freshness and energy efficiency based on your usage patterns.

Along with this, the new refrigerator models will have LG’s Ice Solution, which offers four types of ice options to cater to the high ice consumption rate among Asians. Check them out here:

And if you’re hopelessly bad at cooking, LG highlighted its advanced Camera Oven, which uses an internal camera to identify the ingredients inside and recommend optimal cooking modes. While the oven does its work, the camera monitors the progress of the food to ensure it’s cooking up just nice.
Specifically for the Southeast Asian market, LG will also be introducing a tailored built-in kitchen collection featuring ovens, cooktops, and hoods.

For post-meal cleanup, the new dishwashers now feature the QuadWash Pro, which uses four spray arms with high-pressure water jets and microbubbles to clean the dishes from multiple angles. This, and the dishwasher’s warm, dry air of the Dynamic Heat Dry+, ensures that everything is done in a fast one-hour wash-and-dry cycle.
This model has user-centric details like automatic detergent dispensing, specialised nozzles, and adjustable racks to fit the needs of any person.
With all the asap from the wok hey now lingering on your clothes, that’s where smart laundry appliances come in
Recognising that Asian homes often have limited space, LG has expanded its WashTower lineup with a new 25-inch model joining the already existing 24-inch and 27-inch models.
This comes with a 6.8-inch touch LCD as an all-in-one control centre to fit into the seamless one-body design of the WashTower.

New top-load washer models are powered by Artificial Intelligence Direct Drive (AI DD) technology, consisting of features like AI Wash 2.0, AI Dry, DUAL Inverter HeatPump technology, and Automatic Filter Cleaning System. The smart tech optimises the entire process based on fabric type and soil level, ensuring a quick wash all under 30 minutes.
If you’re tight on space, the new LG WashCombo acts as an all-in-one model that still has AI Wash 2.0, as well as Inverter Heatpump technology for energy-efficient washing and drying.
LG will also be introducing a commercial washer-dryer HeatPump Combo unit for businesses, with a global expansion slated after its strong demand in South Korea.
It’s worth noting that all these appliances have been optimised for energy-efficient use!
While we were there, LG brought us along for a journey on how AI-powered appliances can make your life easier
The exhibition featured three distinct zones meant to emulate different homes and how these appliances can help in your daily life. Central to these zones is the ThinQ ON, LG’s AI Home Hub.
It connects and coordinates the LG-enabled appliances and IoT devices in a house, delivering a seamless flow of devices meeting your needs from the second you walk through the door (quite literally because there was an LG Smart Lock at the very beginning).

Following its initial debut, ThinQ ON is set for a phased rollout across Asia, starting with Thailand and Australia.
