Hyundai Motor (005380) and Kia (000270) said Thursday they won a total of five awards, including one Best of the Best and four Winner awards, at the 2026 Red Dot Award: Product Design.

The Red Dot Award, organized by Germany’s Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, is one of the world’s three most prestigious design awards. Each year, it selects outstanding designs in three categories: product design, brands and communication design, and design concept.

This year, Kia’s EV4 won the Best of the Best award. Kia previously won top honors in this category with the EV6 in 2022, the EV4 in 2024, and the EV3 in 2025.

The EV4 won the Best of the Best award for its bold and daring design expression based on Kia’s design philosophy “Opposites United.” As the only sedan in Kia’s electrified lineup, the EV4 features a bold design that breaks the mold of conventional sedans and emphasizes practicality suited to European lifestyles.

Four other products won Winner awards: Kia’s PV5, Genesis GV60 Magma, Hyundai Motor Group’s robot platform MobED, and the Hyundai employee ID card case.

The PV5, which previously won the top Gold prize at the 2026 iF Design Award, received the Winner award for its package that maximizes practicality and its futuristic yet robust design. The GV60 Magma was recognized for refined elegance and unique presence achieved through aerodynamics-focused design combined with exclusive Magma details.

The MobED, a mobile robot platform developed by Hyundai Motor and Kia’s Robotics Lab, and the Hyundai employee ID card case, which improved user experience through MagSafe functionality and a modular reel holder system, also received Winner awards.

“This recognition reflects the unique design philosophy and inspiration for the future embodied by each of the Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis brands,” a Hyundai Motor and Kia official said. “We will continue to strive to provide new value and experiences to customers through differentiated design.”
