Park Min-woo, Head of Hyundai Motor’s Advanced Vehicle Platform (AVP) Division and CEO of 42dot.
Pak Min-woo, head of Hyundai Motor Group’s Advanced Vehicle Platform (AVP) division and CEO of 42dot, said Tuesday that the company’s generative artificial intelligence agent “Gleo AI” will be developed into “a personalized AI that understands user behavior and preferences to help with what is needed even without being asked, over the medium to long term.”
Unveiling the detailed technologies built into Gleo AI, Pak said, “Gleo AI, as a ‘mobility companion that eases my burden,’ will be advanced to naturally perform more functions and understand context going forward.”
Gleo AI is a generative AI developed by 42dot, the global software center of Hyundai Motor (005380.KS). Unlike mobile-centric assistants such as Siri or Bixby, it is a voice assistant developed specifically for the vehicle environment. Development began in 2024, and it was first installed in “The New Grazer,” the new Grandeur model launched by Hyundai Motor this month.
Vehicle occupants can control major functions of the car, from setting navigation destinations to climate control, through conversation with Gleo AI without having to press a separate button. Going beyond simply executing commands, Gleo AI recognizes the speaker’s location and considers driving conditions to comprehensively understand the user’s intent. 42dot explained that it has designed Gleo AI to selectively utilize various large language models (LLMs) according to processing stages such as comprehension, judgment, and response generation.
42dot said it has separately built a knowledge agent to provide the latest information through Gleo AI. The knowledge agent allows Gleo AI to comprehensively use the web and proprietary data to search for necessary information in real time. 42dot plans to continuously improve Gleo AI through over-the-air (OTA) updates.
