The Busan Metropolitan Government is running a hands-on training program in partnership with Naver Cloud to strengthen technology startups’ capabilities in using generative artificial intelligence (AI). The city said it will hold the “Startup AI Capacity-Building Training” for three days from the 26th to the 28th at Naver Square Busan.
The training was organized to respond to the spread of generative AI technology and growing demand among startups for AI applications. According to the city, 47% of companies participating in its startup support programs have AI-based startup items or business models. A training demand survey conducted this year also showed that demand for education in the AI and cloud fields was the highest.
The program primarily targets executives and employees of companies selected for the city’s startup support programs. Designed for 100 participants, it combines theory and practical exercises. A key feature is its focus on hands-on practice that can be applied in actual business settings, including work automation, information retrieval and customer service.
In particular, the program focuses on enhancing startups’ digital transformation and work efficiency through prompt design, the use of application programming interfaces (APIs), and the development and practice of AI workflows.
The city expects the program to boost local startups’ capabilities in using generative AI while also helping to establish a regional AI training model based on public-private cooperation.
“It is significant that this is the first AI hands-on training program the city is pursuing in cooperation with Naver Cloud,” said Lee Jin-soo, the city’s financial and startup policy officer. “We will continue to expand practice-oriented training so that startups can apply the latest AI technologies in the field.”
