Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said Tuesday that the company’s next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) accelerator, “Vera Rubin,” has entered full-scale production.
“Vera Rubin is currently in full production,” Huang said during his keynote speech at GTC Taipei, held at the Taipei Music Center on Tuesday morning, adding that the chip is equipped with memory from Samsung Electronics (005930.KS), SK hynix (000660.KS), and Micron.
Huang emphasized that Vera, the central processing unit (CPU), has dramatically improved the performance of AI agents. He also unveiled a range of models, including Vera Compute, which features eight CPUs, and Vera BlueField, a storage-specialized variant.
Nvidia’s Vera CPU is presumed to be equipped with high-performance DRAM from Samsung Electronics and SK hynix — Low-Power Double Data Rate 5X (LPDDR5X). With Nvidia making a full-fledged entry into the CPU market targeting AI agent services, a shake-up is expected in a market currently dominated by Intel and AMD.
