What is the LG OLED G6?
The LG OLED G6 is LG’s flagship OLED model. The G in the name is for “gallery”, as this model was originally designed for flush wall-mounting, like a picture. That means it has a super-slim design with a flat back, so it looks really smart when wall mounted.
This model is an update on the LG OLED G5 from 2025, which is one of the best OLED TVs available. It sits above the LG OLED C6 in the company’s range, rivalling top TVs from Samsung like the S99H, with a premium design, advanced OLED panel and powerful processor.
Perfect for proper TV enthusiasts, the LG OLED G6 is built for picture quality and performance, increasing the brightness for greater impact when watching high quality content. It’s among the first of a new wave of OLED TVs for 2026, so it’s likely to be first in line for discounts when sales like Black Friday come around.

I’ve been a technology reviewer for 20 years and have tested many televisions during that time, from small and affordable TVs through to premium high-end sets.
I tested the 65-inch model of the LG OLED G6 at home for a month, in a range of contexts from daytime viewing to movie nights in darker conditions. I tested a full range of content from all the major streaming services and Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, as well as broadcast television and lower quality material to test upscaling.
Having set up the TV on the supplied stand, I examined the quality of the finish and the supplied remote, tested the picture quality and sound, and dug into the menus to see how usable the interface was. Finally, I tested gaming on the LG OLED G6 and got to grips with its connections.
