Naver (035420.KS) is conducting a nationwide participatory documentation campaign called the “Everyone’s Retrospective Project” in partnership with the Korea Arts and Culture Education Service.

Naver said it will run the Everyone’s Retrospective Project on Naver Blog from Sunday through August 31, under the theme “A Record That Looks Back at Myself, an Unexpected Discovery.” The campaign was designed to allow users to document their experiences and thoughts through retrospective-style writing, and to share these with other users to create new empathy and discovery. The campaign is sponsored by the Jigwan Foundation, the Retrospective Network, and the Korean Library Association.

Naver is also providing monthly themes to encourage continued participation from users. In June, under the theme “Family,” it will collect stories that look back on memories and experiences shared with family. In July, under the theme “Vocation,” it will gather content documenting the experiences and growth accumulated through life’s processes such as study, employment, entrepreneurship, and retirement. In August, it plans to present retrospective content in the form of letters addressed to one’s past or future self, or to someone facing similar concerns.

Users who wish to participate can easily join the campaign by writing a retrospective post on Naver Blog and publishing it publicly with the required hashtag “#EveryonesRetrospective.” During the campaign period, an awards program totaling 55.5 million won will also be operated for 510 participants who publish outstanding content.

In particular, recipients of the “Shining Retrospective Award” will receive an award from the president of the Korea Arts and Culture Education Service along with a gift voucher worth 1 million won, and the winning works will be shared with more people through future offline exhibitions and the production of a commemorative booklet. In addition, various benefits including accommodation vouchers, profile photo shoot vouchers, and Naver Pay points will be provided through a lottery for monthly participation content.

Naver plans to continue seeking various ways to expand the foundation of an in-depth content ecosystem that contains diverse perspectives and stories. The Korea Arts and Culture Education Service and sponsors will also support the campaign’s operation based on the expertise and networks each organization possesses.
