NS Shopping completed its acquisition of the Homeplus Express business division by making the final payment of 120.6 billion won and closing the business transfer transaction, the company said on the 22nd. Operation of Homeplus Express will be handled by a newly established corporation, Homeplus Express Co., Ltd., which NS Shopping set up as a subsidiary.

Following the signing of the business transfer agreement, NS Shopping conducted on-site inspections of all stores and carried out payment guarantees to suppliers as part of preparations to normalize operations. The company plans to strengthen the competitiveness of the existing Homeplus Express through the product operation capabilities, digital commerce experience, and partner network it has accumulated while growing as a food-focused home shopping company.

The new corporation is expected to first pursue store operation normalization, product supply stabilization, and customer service recovery as its top priorities.

“We will improve facilities and equipment, normalize our product assortment, train employees, and innovate our service, transforming into our neighborhood’s leading supermarket that customers want to visit again,” an NS Shopping official said. “Based on our nationwide store network and online platform, we will reorganize the business under the vision of ‘making customers’ daily lives fresher and closer.'”

The company is also fully pursuing efforts to strengthen its online business competitiveness. By linking its neighborhood-based short-distance distribution network with digital commerce, it aims to enhance online and offline synergy. The company plans to develop into a lifestyle-oriented platform that allows customers to purchase the products they want more quickly and conveniently.

“We stand at a new starting point to establish a stable operational foundation for Homeplus Express and to recover customer trust,” said Cho Hang-mok, CEO of NS Shopping. “We will focus on stabilizing product supply and restoring store competitiveness to make it our neighborhood’s leading supermarket that customers want to visit again.”
