LG Electronics is moving to cement its position as the world’s top OLED TV maker with new ultra-premium models that combine wireless transmission technology and advanced artificial intelligence (AI) features. The company aims to strengthen its presence in the premium market through its “LG SIGNATURE” lineup, which concentrates its innovative technologies.
LG Electronics said Tuesday it will roll out the “LG SIGNATURE OLED W,” a next-generation wireless wallpaper TV, and the “LG SIGNATURE OLED T,” a wireless transparent OLED TV, starting in Korea and expanding to global markets in stages.
The SIGNATURE OLED W, the core of the ultra-premium lineup, applies ultra-slim technology to every component from the panel to the speakers, achieving an all-in-one design just 0.9cm thick — about the width of a pencil. It also became the world’s first to receive the “True Wireless Lossless Vision” certification from global certification body TÜV Rheinland. The TV wirelessly transmits high-quality video at 4K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate without picture loss or latency, supporting a clean, cable-free interior.
The performance of the AI processor, the “brain of the TV,” has also been significantly enhanced. The latest “third-generation Alpha 11” processor mounted in the new model offers 5.6 times the neural processing unit (NPU) performance of its predecessor, with graphics processing performance improved by 70%. It also applies ultra-low-reflection display technology, the industry’s first to receive the “Reflection-Free Premium” certification from global certification body Intertek, delivering flawless picture quality that minimizes light reflection in any environment.
A new lineup of the SIGNATURE OLED T, the wireless transparent TV, is also being introduced. Users can easily switch between black screen and transparent screen modes using the remote control, and in transparent mode, the openness of the space behind the screen is maximized to provide a three-dimensional viewing experience similar to augmented reality (AR). Shipping prices are set at 10.5 million won for the 77-inch SIGNATURE OLED W and 16 million won for the 83-inch model. The 77-inch SIGNATURE OLED T is priced at 100 million won.
LG Electronics plans to further solidify its standing as the world’s No. 1 OLED TV maker for the 13th consecutive year through these ultra-premium new products. According to market research firm Omdia, LG Electronics held a 50.5% share of the global OLED TV market by shipments in the first quarter of this year, accounting for more than half. It also maintains a commanding lead in key markets including North America (52.8%) and Europe (49%).
“The LG SIGNATURE OLED W and T are innovative products that concentrate the technology of LG TVs, which have written a history of world firsts,” said Park Hyoung-sei, president and head of LG Electronics’ MS Division. “We will continue our firm leadership in the premium TV market on the strength of unmatched technological innovation that only LG Electronics can achieve.”
