LG Uplus (032640.KS) said Monday it will partner with GNC Energy, a power generation equipment specialist, to improve power supply stability at its artificial intelligence (AI) data center.
To this end, LG Uplus signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with GNC Energy on the 24th at the LG Uplus headquarters in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Under the agreement, the two companies plan to cooperate across the entire power infrastructure of LG Uplus’s AI data centers, including emergency generators to be supplied to the AI data center under construction in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, as well as future AI data center projects. They will establish a timely supply system for core equipment and jointly pursue equipment standardization in preparation for future expansion.
“In AI data centers, even a single power interruption can lead to large-scale service disruptions, so the stability of power infrastructure is itself a competitive edge,” said Jung Sook-kyung, head of LG Uplus’s AIDC business division. “We will secure core equipment stably and continue to strengthen our competitiveness in supplying AI infrastructure.”
